Photo album is the stories told in the family, such as how life looked like during dad’s childhood or what were the challenges for grandma to raise 5 children during war. I find them powerful because they are genuine (in terms of not being edited or selected by historians.) They are usually told in the most direct language possible, with no big words or fancy expressions by family members. Apart from the sincerity, they provide an honest perspective of what was happening at that moment since they are told by real people with real reactions.

 

Through those lens, we get to peek into the people’s lives of those times. This section is probably the most personal among all as it is the least “polished” one.
